How did the war affect the United States?
The Unites States didn't enter the war until the fighting already began but the United States largely entered the war because Germany was using the submarines to sink ships that were headed toward England. America had a huge amount of trade with England and wasn't happy with the German disruption and Germany also didn't stay neutral like they stated they would. The allies and Germany were pretty evenly matched so when the U.S. troops joined the balance of the was was throw off.
American innovations boomed when they entered the war in 1916, manufactures had to keep up production with the pace of the war. New technologies were developed and it opened up more employment for women and African Americans because most men that were in stable condition were shipped off to fight. Allowing women to work in men's positions led the way for the 19th amendment that was passed after the war which have everybody the right to vote regardless of gender.
